Geophysics, Minor

The Geophysics minor provides students with a grounding in the technical skills crucial to investigating the subsurface features of our earth. The minor emphasizes a variety of state-of-the-art techniques used by professionals in resource exploration and development in order to study what lies beneath our feet, including both ground-based approaches as well as aerial (drones) and satellite imaging.

GPA Requirement

Minor GPA: 2.0 or higher

Minor Requirements

  • Students must complete at least 6 credit hours in their minor from SRU
  • A minimum of 6 credit hours must be upper division (courses numbered 300 and above)
  • A minor shall be no fewer than 18 credits.
