Hospitality and Tourism Management, Minor
Program Learning Outcomes
1.Students will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the hospitality and tourism industry, including key sectors, career paths, and relevance to the overall global economy (UO 1,9)
2. Students will apply best practices in customer service to create exceptional guest experiences, demonstrating empathy, cultural sensitivity and communication skills in all areas of the service economy. (UO 1,5,7)
3. Students will develop the skills to effectively plan, organize, and manage operations for private, entertainment, and corporate meetings and events. (UO 1,2,6)
4. Students will analyze and interpret financial and economic data relevant to hospitality and tourism, enabling them to make informed business decisions (UO 2,4)
5. Students will evaluate and apply sustainable and ethical practices in hospitality and tourism settings, demonstrating an understanding of environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and ethical decision-making in a global context. (UO 7,8)

Minor GPA: 2.0 or higher
MINOR REQUIREMENTS
- Students must complete at least 6 credit hours in their minor from SRU
- A minimum of 6 credit hours must be upper division (courses numbered 300 and above)
- A minor shall be no fewer than 18 credits.
