SLAB

SLAB is an award winning, nationally recognized literary magazine published by students from the English Department. SLAB publishes fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and graphic novel excerpts from established and emerging writers including winners of NEA Fellowships, Pushcart Prizes, and Eisner Awards. Staff members gain valuable publications experience in manuscript selection, editing, creative writing, and layout. Founded in 2005, SLAB receives funding through the Student Government Association. The Rocket

The Rocket is the independent, student-run newspaper serving Slippery Rock University. The staff publishes digital content daily on www.theonlinerocket.com and print editions on a monthly basis. The Rocket produces award-winning news, sports, and feature content covering the campus community and beyond, and serves as an outlet for student opinion through the editorial and letter-to-the-editor features. The Rocket provides an excellent experience for students whose career goals are in the areas of print, broadcast or converged journalism, social media, advertising, layout and design, and general digital content or news management.
