Environmental Communication and Heritage Interpretation, Minor

This minor will provide students with an interdisciplinary understanding of cultural and natural resource communication and interpretation. Students will apply concepts from the fields of history, ecology, human dimensions of natural resources (including psychological, sociological, political, cultural and economic aspects), environmental education, environmental communication, adventure-based outdoor pursuits, interpretation and land management. Completing the minor will also enable students to achieve a nationally recognized certification as a Certified Interpretive Guide.

GPA REQUIREMENT

Minor GPA: 2.0 or higher

MINOR REQUIREMENTS

  • Students must complete at least 6 credit hours in their minor from SRU
  • A minimum of 6 credit hours must be upper division (courses numbered 300 and above)
  • A minor shall be no fewer than 18 credits.
