Who Do We Think We Are?
Who Do We Think We Are Thematic Thread
What does it mean to be human? Human beings enlist science, the arts, humanities, and other disciplines to understand themselves and the human condition. Indeed, one of the defining features of our condition is its insistence on finding an answer to the question of who we are, and arguably this is at the center of everything we do. Depending on who you ask, many and diverse answers present themselves. This thread encourages students to explore the many ways that human beings define, conceptualize, and represent themselves to themselves. Questions of personal, social, and physical identity are examined alongside others.
