Homeland Security, Certificate

Since 9/11 and other man-made and natural disasters, the concept of homeland security is embedded in every aspect of federal, state, and local government. Most importantly the private sector also plays a key role in securing the homeland. This certificate will provide the overview of the scope of homeland security, the fundamentals of terrorism, risk analysis, and protecting infrastructure and key assets. All students would benefit from this certificate due to the threats all organizations face from man-made and natural disaster. Hotels entertainment/sporting venues, hospitals, etc. are not immune from being targets by terrorists and susceptible to other man-made and natural disasters. The key to homeland security in America is an “enterprise” of various stakeholders in society.

There are a variety of professional certifications you may obtain upon graduation.  We encourage you to research the requirements of these certifications as many of them require the passing of an exam and relevant work experience.
