Program Learning Outcomes

  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving in Security Studies: Students will develop critical thinking skills necessary to the identification and response of security threats.
  • Ethics, Values and Morality in Security Studies: Students will identify, explain and apply principles of ethics, law, values and morality to security-based scenarios and practices.
  • Professional Communication in Security Studies: Students will demonstrate ability to clearly articulate plans, strategies, analyses and other field-based communications in oral and written format, including the use of current technologies and media.
  • Professional Proficiency in Security Studies: Students will recognize, explain, report and demonstrate current field-based best practices in security management, threat response, and other knowledge/skills/abilities demanded by the field and the impact of technology on security preparedness and implementation.
  • Writing Proficiency in Security Studies: Students will practice and apply principles of clear, professional, succinct and straightforward writing.
