Beginning in the fall of 2019, the BFA Acting program will provide an affordable, four-year, focused, conservatory-style, 78-credit BFA Acting degree program, with two concentrations - Theatre Performance and Musical Theatre Performance. This degree program will prepare students for careers in theatre performance and musical theatre performance at a professional level as well as for a variety of professional performance jobs in the theatre and entertainment industry.
The program has two focused goals of providing students with affordable, liberal arts, BFA training in acting and producing contemporary musical theatre.
All BFA Acting students will gain a solid foundation in performance, acting skills, vocal and movement styles and practices, theatre history, directing, stage makeup, and an introduction to dance.
In the 28-credit Musical Theatre Performance concentration, BFA students will continue to hone their craft through advanced vocal and dance training, acting, musicianship and music theory, and musical auditioning skills. They will also complete advanced studies in the history of musical theatre.
