Students seeking state certification in secondary education must also complete requirements for a Master of Education degree, a one-year program at SRU. All of our programs are designed to steadily develop the quantitative, deductive and inductive reasoning skills that mathematicians must have.
At least 6 credits of electives from approved mathematics courses 300 and above. In addition, candidates for the bachelor of arts degree must satisfactorily complete, either by placement or by coursework, the first three semesters of a foreign language.
To earn a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics, all
students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours of mathematics courses at
the 300 level or above at Slippery Rock University.
