Academic Catalog 2023-2024

Slippery Rock University

Registration Procedures

Registration date and time assignments for the current registration period will be made available on MySRU to all eligible students approximately two weeks prior to the registration period.

Undergraduate Students - Undergraduate degree-seeking students enrolled at Slippery Rock University during the current semester, who have not applied to graduate at the end of the current semester, will be eligible to register without seeking readmission. Your specific registration date and time assignment will be displayed in MySRU. To register, all undergraduate students must receive their registration PIN (RPIN) from their adviser or major department. RPIN’s are used only for fall/spring registration.

Post-Baccalaureate Students - A person who has already obtained a bachelor's degree and wishes to pursue another undergraduate degree or just wishes to take a few classes for personal enrichment may obtain an application by contacting the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Post-baccalaureate student registration begins on the first day of the registration period at 10 a.m. Post-baccalaureate students do not need an RPIN.

Graduate Students - Graduate degree-seeking students who have been in attendance during the current semester or the three preceding semesters (fall/spring) may register without seeking reactivation or readmission. Graduate student registration will begin on the first day of the registration period at 8 a.m. Graduate students do not need an RPIN.

New Students (undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking students) - A person who has never attended Slippery Rock University may obtain the appropriate application by contacting either the Office of Undergraduate Admissions or the Office of Graduate Admissions.  New first-year freshmen will have schedules made for them.  New transfer and graduate students will receive registration instructions from the respective Admissions Office, and will register based on their student type listed above, undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, or graduate.

Former Students - An undergraduate degree-seeking student who did not attend Slippery Rock University during the current semester, or a graduate degree-seeking student who has not been in attendance during the past four fall/spring semesters, must submit a request for readmission to the Office of Exploratory Studies and Academic Progress (undergraduate students) or the Office of Graduate Admissions (graduate students). Once readmitted, former students will register based on their student type listed above, undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, or graduate. (During the period of inactivity for the graduate student, the statute of limitations will continue to be applied.)

Transient/Non-Degree Seeking Students - A student who wishes to attend SRU as a non-degree seeking student, should contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions (undergraduate students) or the Office of Graduate Admissions (graduate students).  Once admitted, transient/non-degree seeking students will be provided registration instructions in their acceptance communications from the respective Admissions Office.  These students must reapply for each semester they wish to attend SRU.
